In honor of America’s 250th Anniversary, join us on the third Saturday of every month for Colonial Saturdays at Wentz. Visit the Farmstead on these days to see various demonstrations of colonial chores and crafts.

Art ContestJanuary 1-October 31To honor the Farmstead’s 50th Anniversary as a historic site, we are hosting an art contest. Children and adults are invited to submit artwork in three categories: photography, painting, and other mediums (drawing, sculpture, etc). Prizes to be awarded. Subject of the artwork must be of the Farmstead grounds.

Maple SugaringSaturday, February 21 & 28 10:00am-4:00pmMaple Sugaring at Peter Wentz Farmstead Join our farmers as they create maple sugar from trees right here at the Farmstead! Watch as they tap the trees, collect the sap, and create the syrup. This program is weather dependent. All ages; Free.
U.S. 250 History Symposium at John James Audubon CenterSaturday, March 21 9:30am-3:30pm“Ordinary People in Extraordinary Times: Montgomery County in the American Revolution.” Learn how ordinary people were affected by the war for independence. Regional speakers will present topics like military interactions with civilians, celebrations of the signing of the Declaration, and black freedom seekers during the war. Lunch and snacks are included. Cost: $40
Sheep Shearing Day Saturday, April. 25 10:00am-4:00pmExperience springtime on a colonial farm! Watch our farmers shear our sheep. Then, follow the “wool to wardrobe” process as our living historians demonstrate spinning, weaving, and other textile crafts. Tour the historic house, watch an open hearth cooking demo, and more! Tavern and Irish Music NightSaturday, May 30 4:00pm-8:00pmExperience a night of music and libations at the Farmstead. Enjoy local craft beer, live music, and colonial games. Cost of food & drink; 21+ for beer.
Juneteenth ToursSaturday, June 20 10:00am -4:00pmLearn the history of the African American experience in eighteenth-century Pennsylvania during special subject tours. All ages; Free; Reservations requested 
America 250!Sunday, June 28

Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a good old-fashioned birthday party! Enjoy colonial games, some birthday treats, as well as visits from our fellow Montgomery County parks and historic sites. There will also be a commemoration of the Farmstead’s 50th anniversary of being an historic site! All ages: Free
Colonial CampJuly 11-July 17
8:30am – 12:30pm
At Colonial Camp, children will live as colonial Pennsylvanians for the week! They will learn about the history of Pennsylvania, from the earliest settlers to the Revolutionary War, with activity themes including crafts, science, technology, and more. Colonial Camp is for students entering 4th through 6th grades this fall. Registration is required and spots are limited. The cost for the week is $125 per child. Project PawpawSaturday, Sep. 19 12:00pm-3:00pmLearn about America’s largest native tree fruit, the pawpaw. Take a walk along our nature trail to see our pawpaw trees, do some art and crafts, and even get a pawpaw seed to take home! All ages; Free
Homeschool Day at Norristown Farm ParkWednesday, Sep 23 10:00am-3:00pm*County parks and historic sites will introduce themselves to regional homeschool families. Attendees can visit various sites’ tables, which will include information, fliers, and hands-on activities. *Families should register for ONE of the two sessions: 10:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-3:00pm. Harvest FestivalSaturday, Nov. 7 10:00am -4:00pmJoin us to experience a colonial farm during the fall harvest. Watch a variety of demonstrations, including cider pressing, candle dipping, and cooking. Enjoy hands on activities. All ages; Free
Candlelight TourSaturday, Dec. 5 4:00pm-8:00pmCome spend a lovely winter’s eve with us here at the Farmstead! The soft glow of candles will light your way as you explore this historic property. Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with this picturesque look at a quiet winter’s night in colonial Pennsylvania. Watch a cooking demonstration, enjoy holiday entertainment, and find out if the Belsnickel has deemed you naughty or nice! All ages; Free.
